Review

The MOOSE kit comes packaged in an extremely well made printed art box with a multi level cube of styrofoam inside to keep everything safe. The parts are cast in a high quality resin that is very easy to work with, although did have quite a strong smell. Also included in the box is a model base, a decal sheet, printed color instruction book, some photo etch brass and aluminum parts, and a bag of hoses to add detail. Some of the parts were a bit warped or squished which sometimes happens with resin cast models and will be fairly easy to correct. This is a high end resin cast kit with tons of detail, the fit and finish of all the cast parts are very nice.

Info

"In Neill Blomkamp’s cult sci-fi action film CHAPPiE (2015), MOOSE is a heavy weapons machine, originally engineered as a Police Force aid. In addition to creating the full-sized robot, Weta Workshop produced a miniature MOOSE mech as a tabletop prop for the film. This 1:8 scale resin kit is based off the same 3D files used to produce the MOOSE miniature, allowing you to assemble your own film prop replica.

Weta Workshop’s expert model maker Leonard Ellis is adamant “you don’t have to build what’s on the box.” The MOOSE resin kit was designed with modification in mind. The robot’s pose is fixed, but the rest is up to you. Scavenge parts to kit bash, customise the model with a coat of paint or decorate MOOSE like it appears in CHAPPiE using the decal sheet."
